I don’t know if anyone has done this before, but I’ll already make a release which covers all (female) personalities. Isn’t it annoying when someone releases a supposedly modder’s resource that leaves out some stuff? That is, without giving a hint on how to resolve them?

Again, the poses are already in AA2’s files and all I did is to use a .XA editor to make them accessible in-game. Anyone with SB3U like me should be able to do this on his own.
How about the poses of AA1 male personalities? They are not there. If you want them in AA2, then you will have to import them.
This should be considered as a modder’s resource. That is, installing this won’t change the low-poly pose of any personality*. You will have to manually assign the poses yourself if you want to use them.
* This is assuming that you are not using modded low-poly animation files, by the way. Currently existing AA1 ports apparently had modded idle poses assigned to them so installing this mod does change the pose that is assigned for them. This is easily correctable, however.

- Static version: http://bit.ly/1F3GRAO
What’s the difference? Read on.
Affected files

The mod overwrites the following from jg2p01_00_00.pp
- LA00_00_00_00.xa
- LA00_00_00_01.xa
- LA00_00_00_02.xa
Low-poly animation files are separate from those of high-poly so you should not worry if you happen to be using the currently distributed AA1’s animation port. I for one don’t use it, though.
Animated versus static
AA1’s low-poly idle poses have multiple frames. This is unlike in AA2 where the poses only have one frame. AA2’s low-poly pose movement is limited only to simulate breathing, which is unlike AA1’s.
Animated version
- The good side: The poses exactly look like how they were in AA1.
- The bad side: They look out-of-place among those which used AA2 low-poly poses.
- Note: Just like in AA1, it’s normal that animation becomes faster when a character is stalking someone.
Static version
- The good side: The poses look consistent with what the AA2 personalities have.
- The bad side: Certain AA1 personalities have poses which look stupid when static (e.g. Casual… then again, it’s not like it’s not weird when it’s in motion).

Guide: Assigning a personality’s low-poly pose
I. Base
This covers all personalities from the retail version of the game.
Which file do you need?
AA2Edit’s data folder -> jg2e00_00_00.pp -> jg2e_00_01_00_00.lst
The second to the last number i.e. boxed in the picture above, identifies the pose used by the low-poly model.
Example. Line 1 represents Lively. If you want her to use Pleasant’s low-poly pose, then you should change 59 to 84.

II. Additional
This covers personalities from the pre-order and append packs, as well as the modded ones.
Which file do you need?
AA2Play’s data folder -> jg2p05_~_01.pp -> jg2p_00_00_00_00.lst
(where ~ represents corresponds to one personality)
The file only contains a single line. Again, seventh to the last number i.e. boxed above handles the pose used by the low-poly model.
Example. If I want to change Cadet’s low-poly model pose to that of Affable’s, then I would have to do the following.
- Locate jg2p_05_a21_01.pp -> jg2p_00_00_00_00.lst.
- Change 80 to 93.

Final words

It’s a pity that there is more effort required for the guys. I am generally not fond of what the low-poly poses of the male AA2 personalities look like…

Oh, very nice. I was actually the person who put out the animated low-poly stuff for Quiet and Empress, though it wasn’t quite finish as it lacked animations for the head, an oversight on my part. I had planned to make the other personalities available, as you have done here, but things have been rather busy as of late, so I’m glad that you went ahead and did this.
This is quite a late reply, but this suddenly arrived to me: if you previously attempted porting the Empress’ and Quiet’s low-poly poses from AA1, what sort of programs did you use?
I was trying to import animations with SB3U but I couldn’t figure it out with all its terms and stuff. Someone could really have a hand at working with the male poses…
